Inspire Others

Shortly after 9/11, the poet and author Maya Angelou came to Lincoln center to give a talk. She walked onto center stage and sang—words that inspired us with her vision: “If it looks like the sun isn’t going to shine, look for the rainbow. If it looks like the sun is really not going to shine, be the rainbow.” Rainbows are people whose lives are bright, shining examples for others.

Know there is always a rainbow waiting to be seen or felt.  We can be rainbows to others through our example. When we have creativity and vision there are no limits to our ability to inspire others to love life more abundantly, to be brave and true to our highest ideals and to spread light in all directions.

Where is the rainbow? Wherever you are.
