How To Save A life

What if you could save a life—or even three—in just an hour? You can, by giving blood.

Every two seconds in the U.S., trauma survivors, cancer patients, people with chronic diseases and many others need blood to survive. More than 45,000 pints are required daily.

Right now, there’s no way to manufacture blood. All this lifesaving liquid must come from volunteers. But only about 3% of eligible donors roll up their sleeves.

As a result, supply often falls short, delaying or canceling lifesaving treatments.

How to help—look for blood drives in your community or contact American Red Cross, redcrossblood.org, 800-RED-CROSS
